I recently completed a replica of a half round top wooden storm door for a historic block in Philadelphia.  The original shattered in a windstorm.  I used white oak and brass hardware with a marine spar varnish.  The tempered glass panel can be swapped out for a screened one.  I added a couple of hand carved latches for the panels.  A new latch and door check I installed should keep it from blowing in the wind.
